McIntosh ID

Fellow I know is cleaning out his parents' house which is something of a hoarder situation. Clean hoard not dead cats hoard.
He sent me this pic that I think might be an MC30 but I'm not that familiar with McIntosh gear.
Looks to be in good condition but no idea of operational condition.
I was hoping to get an ID and an idea of demand/value.
It might be a few days before he gets back and confirms model.
His dad apparently has a stereo room so I'm looking forward to helping him go through the collection.

Thanks

Mike

No just trying to help him liquidate the stuff and clean up his parents house.
He mentioned he had a bunch of stereo stuff and i expected it to be sony receivers from the 80s then he sent me this pic.
Hoping to help him assess what he has and the best way to get rid of it.

I think that is great. Unfortunately I'm no help with this particular model. Clear pics of these units would help greatly

The good news is that once you have the model numbers there is market data on almost every McIntosh. They trade on Ebay, Audiokarma and Audiogon. Also there is a dealer named Audio Classics that trades all McIntosh at top-of-market prices (IMHO). Invaluable McIntosh information is available here: http://www.roger-russell.com/aboutmc.htm and around the web.

Important safety tip: If the stuff has not been used in years, don't just plug it in! Electrolytic capacitors go bad over time and can fail, leak or explode. Do a careful interior inspection first and bring them up slowly on a Variac.

Yes I've already him not to turn anything on.
Should be interesting to see what they have.

Thanks for the info so far.

That is a little more realistic than the 250 in the early post. I sold one for 350-400 years ago in fair shape, this one looks better and it is more than a decade later.

I'm not interested in buying the McIntosh but very interested in seeing what he has.
Turntables, watches, cameras, samurai swords.
It's pretty wild.
