McIntosh Marketing Question. . .

Josh, who said our customers are all over 50 years old? That may be one dealer's opinion but McIntosh did not state this. I see young people everywhere running around with a speaker in each year and someday they will be great customers for McIntosh. They may be on a bicycle now but some day they will have whatever home system they want. Might be driving a BMW or Caddie by then though, Ha!
The McIntosh dealer is key to our success since they must present the product to the consumer, install it and complete the interface with the rest of the home. Trade shows, McMasters training, etc. is all about enhancing the dealer's performance which equals customer satisfaction.

Thanks,
Ron-C
At 55, I tried a $5500 McIntosh C49 preamp. While it looks nice, it did not sound any better than my $450 Parasound 2100 (which has more features like highpass 80hz) or maybe a $2200 Parasound P6 (has all features that the C49 has and has a highpass).
McIntosh wanted another $70 for a proprietary trigger cable!

I have a $17k 2.2 stereo system and I have no interest in buying another McIntosh. This may explain why McIntosh sold out to Bose in end of 2024.

My kids from their teens to early 20s have no interest in component stereo like me, yet they own several pairs of Apple Airpods...that is the future.

Of course this thread was last replied to 18 years ago, ...
McIntosh 2024 sales revenue was $25 million (2022 was $42 million), Bose $3 Billion, versus just Apple airpods sales of $22 BILLION.

I see where the future is heading and it’s not McIntosh. McIntosh sales have been declining.
