Mcintosh MC-152 Meter discoloration and faded. Yellow shroud

Hi,

Newbie here, looking for Mcintosh help. I have just purchased a Mcintosh MC152 and love it, but the meters look off, they are light green and faded, just a hint of blue.

I noticed the white shroud inside the case and behind the meters have medium sized yellow / brown burn stains close where the bulbs sit. Looks like the lamps may have been on all the time and things got heated.

If there any way to get the nice blue glow back?

Thanks,

John

Reviving this for same issue. JVC JR-S600 has two banks of two meters....Signal strength meter and tuning center meter in one housing, and L & R ch power meters in the second housing. The meters are mounted inside rectangular cups [shrouds] made of opaque white plastic. The blue meter lamps are mounted behind the plastic cups, and the light shines thru these opaque plastic cups to illuminate the meters. The backs of both plastic cups [shrouds] are yellowed from being near the 4 blue fuse type lamps. I don't have them out, and don't know if it is only a the surface that has yellowed. Strange that one of the white cups is a much deeper yellow/tan color than the other. As mentioned above by DenverJW, the yellowing results in an odd faded green meter color with one much greener than the other. The blue lamps shining thru yellowed plastic makes for green meters. I could play with different color lamps including LED, but because of the darker yellowing of one cup, the meter colors would still be different. Any one have a solution or a way to clean/bleach the yellowed plastic ???
