I love this Amplifier but they are hard to come by. I like the specs and the stack bridging mode!

Non-autoformer amps can be mono-bridged only. Most autoformer amps which can be run mono can be bridged or paralleled. There are some exceptions - MC352 and MC402 for example, parallel-mono only as they are also quad balanced.
 
Performce charts from a MC 7300 owners manual. Look t the power it will put out driving 4 ohms from the 8 ohm tap!!!!!!! Almost 700 watts continuous and over 800 watts peak. Thats very impressive. MC7300 Owners-16.jpg
 
I picked one up this past year and had it serviced. I've really been enjoying it. Currently have it paired with an old db systems preamp, but am wondering if something might go better with it. The combination works pretty well to date, so hesitant to mess with it but you know. Always gotta tinker.

The C710 (no remote) and C712 (with remote) are period-correct, great specs, low maintenance, and usually bargain priced (for McIntosh) with a half-height chassis. If you want the full-height face, the C38 and C40 are a great match.

I will say again, that although there are bigger and newer amps, the MC7300/MC300 are amps that for the money, are a lot of high-quality high-power McIntosh for the money.

I look at the stairstep evolution of McIntosh amplifiers where there are rises and plateaus, this amplifier was the top of a rise, and the plateau is long. Other than the MC500/MC602 (which I prefer to the 462) I don’t think that there has been anything truly earth-shattering in the 2-channel amplifier evolution since.

Would be great if you could test another Preamp, namely a Mac Preamp. They do usually go so well together.

Yes that is the plan eventually. Would really like to experiment with some different pairings. I got such a good deal on this 7300 and I'm kind of a cheap bargain shopper so it will probably be a while until I come upon a good deal for a mac preamp!!
 
I still prefer the 1201 and 1.2 k as audition amps as you will never run out of power. They even work real well powering Cornwalls at 2 watt levels. But with the 7300 capabilities I can't see you needing anything more. Unless you want to try a Quad circuit amp. Two 501's or the latest 462. Which sounds fabulous by the way when I auditioned one with my friends XRT 28's. I use MC 830's with my XRT 28's.

I replaced a couple of MC 2255's that were giving a customer issues around the age of 15 years, with two 7300's and moved the 2255's to power speakers in the new restaurant section of his disco. No more issues. The two 7300 pushed the HF drivers of his tri-amped Disco system for another 10+ years with out any issues or blowing any of the 24 Altec MR-902-16 HF diaphragms thanks to the power guard and the UREI LA-4 compressors. If the owner had the money I would have replaced the 0ther 16 2255's with 7300's and MC 2600's.
