Does anyone know where I can buy the round 8 pin output connector? I search McIntosh and Mauser websites. It looks like the case on these connectors will hit without shrink wrap around them. Hardware store spade connectors are ugly. I like nice looking and sturdy connections. I guess I am OCD about that sort of thing.

I have seen those octal sockets on early Dynaco gear. The socket was for powering the preamp.

The sockets are on original Dynaco MKIII's and Stereo 70's. They are in addition to and on the opposite chassis side of the terminal strips that are for connecting speakers.

Check the audio karma data base for mcintosh amps page 2 2100's owners manual. 1&2 4 ohms L, 5&6 4 0hms right, 1&3 8 ohms left 5&7 8 ohms right, 1&4 16 ohms left 5&8 16 ohms right. It also gives the mono hook up pin configurations. There is no out put voltage to power the old tube pre-amps like on the older tube power amps. There is also no 600 ohms and 70.7 volt out puts either like on the older tube power amps. .

I would think that those metal cylinder thingies are just for grabbing and are not actually tied to either positive or negative so they won't short the speakers.

You can always take an ohm meter to them just to be sure.

If they do, just cut them off and strip and connect the wires directly. I have never seen those before.
