That's GREAT.. I'm interested!!

Are they in Simi Valley, California? After having a extremely negative and impossible to [ever] reconcile experience with online auction, I'll need to contact Northridge by phone or email.

I am surprised the light is not spotty.
What do you mean by spotty, the equivalent of spot vs flood?
It is my recollection that the bulbs go through a hole in the diffuser and touch an opaque light blocker on the glass. All the "useful" light goes sideways into the clear plastic diffuser. That would mean the 90 degree light output would be the most important.

The LED lamps are at:

I called Tom at Northridge Electronics and he got back to me within 15-20 mins. First impression is favorable. Says lamps for the 2205 with bayonets are some 45 days away. I'd really like to get some cooler lamps in there.

Lots of talk of spot beams and horizontal light transmission. Let's ask what the beamwidth of the lamps are in degrees?

Now that the meters are adjusted, I've been looking at them with a critical eye. Seems the RIGHT meter lamps are flickering every 3 - 4 seconds just a bit. Thinking of it more (the meter compartment cover is still off) the eight lamps are in parallel. That means one of the RIGHT bayonet sockets is tarnished inside. The meter only dims a tiny little bit.. meaning one individual lamp or socket.

The guy at Northridge says he's 45 days away from a bayonet style 90° LED replacement, at least that's my interpretation. This thread is about the 7150 but Northridge is working on 2205 lamp replacement . Let's ditch the bayonet sockets and shoot for a whole new LED that will press into the housing. Or is it best to Deox the sockets? Someone's got to solve the nagging problems with this old gear!

So I just buy the parts from Cottilion, these are reliable and will give me the same look, and after some soldering (I used to build kits... Dyna's, Eico's and HH Scotts as a kit). I will have a somewhat bighter look that is more compatible with new gereation such as my MX119 and MS300????

Hi,

Sorry to rehash this old thread, but I just acquired a MC7150 where most of the lamps are out. I want to upgrade to LEDs, but I can't seem to figure out how to get to the bulbs. Can someone please help?

I do not know why LEDs are considered an upgrade.......

I had to change the meter gels on the recently done MC2125 using Northridge LEDs to get the meters to look right.

I'm not set on getting LEDs, but I'm definitely trying to understand how to get the faceplate off and get to the bulbs.
