McIntosh MC7205 meter switch problem

Hi, I'm hoping someone can give me some advise. I have a McIntosh MC7205 amp. The meter switch is giving me problems. Whenever I turn the switch all the way to the left (to the "lights off" mark), the lights don't always turn off or they'll turn off then on then off and all the time you can hear the electronic switch sound flipping from off to on to off. I'm not sure if I need to have this switch replaced or if it simply needs cleaned. Has anyone had this same experience with a McIntosh amp with the meter switch?
