McIntosh MI350 / MC3500 - so . . . how powerful are they really?

About 10-12 years ago, a single popped up on eBay for $1800 BIN, some where up north, New Jersey I think. I immediately hit the BIN button, knowing I would never find a mate for her that I could afford. I didn't care I had to have it! I paid immediately and about 3 days later the seller emails me...says he slipped and dropped it or some other BS. Long story short I got a refund and never saw that MC3500. Slipped and dropped it, sure he did......
