Mcintosh MR74 Tuning and Signal Strength Meters adjustment

My MR74 seems to work fairly well but when tuned to nothing, the signal Strength meter sits on 2 and the Tuning meter is off to the right. Both meters return to proper position if the tuner is powered off. The voltage on the two meters is tiny (15mV on the Signal Strength and 7mV on the Tuning meter terminals) to get these positions. Question - Is this an alignment thing or is there a tweak for the meters?

There is an old thread for the MR78 related to the tuning meter where a detector pot was cleaned/tweaked but the MR74 doesn't appear to have anything similar.

Is this an alignment thing

Most likely, though it seems possible/likely that the tuner is actually picking up some spurious signal when it seems to be tuned to nothing. Disconnecting the antenna could help to rule that out.

An MR74 seems to me like it deserves to be treated to a proper alignment, but if you have a non-metallic tool suitable for adjusting the very-easy-to-break top core of T105, you could make a seat-of-the-pants adjustment so that the tuning meter is centered when there's no signal (tuned to nothing and antenna disconnected). I wouldn't worry about the signal strength meter - there is no adjustment that's specifically for its no-signal deflection.

Thanks for the guidance. The antenna was disconnected and I tried it with the indicator at either end of the scale and in dead areas with the same result on the meters. For T105, I saw that was in the alignment procedure for zeroing out TP2 but I didn't have a hex tweaker and don't want to screw things up with alignment but... tried it and it worked like a champ! Thank you! I wasn't too worried about the signal strength since I tamed it with R106 - I just didn't want it to peg full scale for all stations. Thanks again
