McIntosh MX 113 Preamplifier

I thought I would get my Dim light and check my preamplifier. When I turned it on the light stayed dim almost off, when I went through the different inputs, I noticed that FM would light up my bulb a little maybe 20-25%. What could cause that? Maybe a capacitor?

I would suspect that the reason is because when you go to FM, you turn on the tuner circuitry, which will draw some additional current.

It is a shame that people come here, contribute little or nothing, ask for help and then post a snide remark about our forums when an instant reply doesn’t come, then disappear again. OldStuff never came back and didn’t even see Bob’s reply less than 24 hours later.

We’re a helpful bunch but we don’t all live on this forum. I wish that they’d all read this sticky, maybe should be a requirement before you can post but a little courtesy and occasional thank you goes a long way.

If you do come back @OldStuff, (“last seen Thursday at 3:59pm” from his profile) feel free to ask questions and we will try to help, but it might take a day or more.
