Can you estimate a cost for repair for a MX-113?

I bought one the seller said was in good shape but alas is has a weak left channel and scratchy, staticky sound, particularly at higher than 40% gain in volume. Seller claims he was/is naive about its condition and thought it was OK. I'm trying to determine how much to ask for discount or whether to send back.

Does anyone know someone who can work on it?

Or a suitable partial refund. Ignorance on the part of the seller is no excuse.
