Mcintosh scam

miniman82

Go Navy!
if this is the wrong forum please move as appropriate.

I've seen this scam earlier in the year, do not attempt to buy anything from seller 'auto4' on eBay. Listing is not done according to eBay standards, and it's the same inappropriate terms for all items. I reported him to eBay, hopefully they clear the mess up. I think his account has likely been hacked or something, because like I said it's the same exact one I saw a couple months ago.

For example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232392565372

You have been warned.

interesting, the seller has nearly perfect feedback with almost 20,000 transactions yet is solicitating transactions off ebay right in the ad.....

Hey
He's got some old marantz pieces up now.8b,5, and 2.
Ok I sent him a message on the 8b. Am I at risk.? Eric

Occurrences of hacked eBay accounts featuring multiple listings of high end audio at prices too-good-to-be-true seems to be common lately.

I just came across this ad from the same seller for a pair of JBL 250ti's. I remember seeing the same photos when he was scamming on CL a couple years ago with these speakers.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-250Ti-L...566256?hash=item361bad25f0:g:cA4AAOSwjKFZVnXG.

He has a tons of other ads besides in see other items. Vintage guitars, drums you name it.

Only 1k for a pair of McIntosh MC1201 Power Amplifiers

"You receive the respond in maximum 5 minutes." Yeah, right after they steal your PayPal money.

Ads are starting to come down, so eBay must be catching on.

All the links are dead.
Is it the same ass clown that lists everything as BIN for $1000 or $1500 but don't bid and contact him first?
If so, he keeps hijacking accounts and posting the same gear, I usuually see his Infinity offering first.

Hey
I been meaning to get back here. I got a response to the question I asked the seller of the marantz 8b.
Said I won it and all I needed to do was send him a money gram for $1000. The name he's using is Kirk Cruz of Edinburgh, U.K.
Scumbag trying to take advantage of an audio addicted victim such as myself. Eric

I don't like ebay.
I think their fees are excessive and the buyer can pretty much say do anything and they'll rule with them. The flip side is, you have access to nearly anything. And you have buyer protection!
Perhaps 3 layers. EBay, paypal, you're credit card.
If you're waiving all three, you almost deserve what's coming.
If it's the deal of the century agree to pay the other 13%(?) You still should be ahead. It does suck that the accounts get hacked. I wonder what makes that possible or is it being done by super hackers?

And now this, different seller same scam.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/352104303737

Seller steveh974 has been hacked, reporting to eBay now. Stay safe and don't get suckered, if it looks too good to be true it is!

And this...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-IN...304534?hash=item51fb0d4f96:g:MVsAAOSw6ShZWgra

Asshole scammer always lists the same items. I guess because he already has templates and pictures for the ads, just keep reusing them?
He's gone from BIN for $1500 to $1000 to now bids since I've been watching him the last 2 or 3 months.

These scammers are all over ebay, that same scammer selling the MC275 is also selling Altec stuff and even industrial gear. Ebay needs to do better policing and make it easier to report a scammer. I had to waste a few minutes trying to figure out how to report this scumbag last time. They need a big red button that simply says REPORT! I shouldn't need to answer questions on why I'm reporting a seller.
