That is an entirely different McIntosh, and quite nice looking. While very attractive, it was not designed with heat dissipation in mind.

My parents bought Danish Modern furniture for the dining room plus a desk in the early 60s while stationed in Germany. This item fits that style exactly and is simply a dining room buffet/sideboard. I would love to have that piece.
 
Probably from McIntosh Furniture of Scotland which goes back to the mid 1800's. I'm not sure, but could that be as in Charles Renee McIntosh? If so that may have been a steal at the price.
