I just received a MC252 and it's driving some LS360 which I believe can handle and use more power than the XLS340. The amp is doing a great job. If I really kick in the bass with some old Bob Marley stuff, I see the red light come on. Now that's at really loud levels but I sometimes do listen at that level. My room though has a lot of sound proofing, mass loaded vinly, green glue, double dry wall. I think if you tried to play that loud without all of this, the police might get called. So, to answer you question, I'm sure that at what most would consider reasonable levels, it has plenty of power. I"m not reasonable, so I'm going to buy an MC402 for some MC501s for my front channels and put the MC252 on the back channels.
