McIntosh XR-19 Speaker Question

I recently purchased a used set of McIntosh XR-19 speakers which need to be refoamed.

While I anxiously await for the kit to arrive my questions are:

1) What is a suitable center channel speaker for these if I choose to use them as front mains? I must admit some sticker shock when I started looking at McInstosh center channels like the XR-27 *laugh*.

2) Is an Audio Design Associates PTM-6150 sufficient to drive them? I am currently running two of these units in my system.

3) How far away from the back wall and side wall should them be (not sure if I can give them the room they need to breathe as I will have to move my screen and projector as it is to fit them along the side).

4) Can anyone comment on what to expect sound wise from them? I am really excited as these are the first close to full range speakers I have ever owned.

Do not want to be a smart aleck but... another XRT19 would be the correct center speaker.

Correct professional theater design specs demand more of the center than L and R and therefore at the least the center should be your "best" speaker with lesser L and R speakers .... or for ease of setup for stereophonic effects encoded in movie tracks three identical speakers across the front is the correct accepted way to go.

All Mac preamps prior to the C32 had 3 channel stereo provisions, again expecting identical LCR speakers. Paul Klipsh used to demo LCR speaker arrangements. Magnetic interference with CRTs and WAF cabinet demands left us with bad center designs and compromised sound. The cheesy common center designs so often mismatch the LR it is no wonder so many home theater sound systems are so terrible for music.

When I sold the 19s back in the day they were most often used with MC2255s and Mc2205s with MQ104 or 107 Eqs. They can make a ton of bass so should be kept away from corners to control the possile corner loading boominess.
