I recapped the power supply, changed the fuses and changed the bulbs of my MCS 3223. Now I realized that the right speakers sound a bit louder than the left ones. What could be causing this/how can I fix this?
I also noticed that sometimes when I'm listening to records, the left channel completely dies, but that gets fixed after I wiggle the rca cables in the back of the receiver, so i think that may be it, but, is it? is there a way that the receiver is causing it as well?
I am not 100% sure of what DC offset and DC bias are exactly. I know offset has to do with this problem, one channel receiving more power than the other(?)... But I also think the DC offset is not adjustable with this unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I also thought the pots needed cleaning, because some of them are noisy, especially the speakers one, but I have used headphones with the receiver and they sound fine, no imbalance (that I can perceive), so that makes me believe that the problem is something that has to do with the speaker outputs.
I'm attaching pictures(that I took before I started working on it) of the unit for reference, please let me know if I should take some more.
Update: I found out that the imbalance is only there when the speaker pot is on A+B. It gets balanced when I move the balance know one and a half "levels" to the left. This makes me think that it actually is the speaker pot that needs cleaning, can anyone "confirm" this? is there a way something is faulty in the unit that somehow creates imbalance when both sets of speakers are being used, other than dirty pots? Thanks again.
