Hey everyone,
I picked up an MCS 6200 for like, $20 or so a few days ago and I'm working on getting it going again. So, the main issue I'm having right now is the 33 1/3 auto return and automatic play isn't working the way it should be. When set to 45, everything works fine, though.
Here's what happens. First, when on manual mode, when the arm reaches the return point, it's picked up, swung over, but the platter stops spinning (which halts all the other mechanics), and I have to manually spin the platter by hand to get everything going again. Then the arm is lowered and the table shuts off.

Second, when on automatic mode, after the arm lifts, the platter studders a few times, and stops, at which point I start it again by spinning it, and then the arm sets itself back down.

I've taken the table off the plinth and greased up everything underneath. My strobe shows that I'm spinning at the right speed, so the motor is ok. Adjusting the indexing screw and/or the cueing height screw just makes it worse. The only thing I haven't done is replace the belt, because it looks like it's spinning ok. I'm not above buying a new belt though, if I should try that.
