MCS 6601 VS 6600

How deep is this rabbit hole?
I have had luck with a few different MCS TT's. I have the 6601 that is not bad but not fantastic. I also have the 6720 that is actually and incredible table. My question is, does anyone have experience with the 6600? Would it be better than the 6601? Ive heard the 6600 is just a Hitachi HT-350, but I dont know if that makes it better or worse than the 6601.

Correct! I love the 6720, but I'm trying to figure out whats better between the 6600 and 6601.

Unless you're unable to read, as I stated in the initial post, I'm asking if anyone has had experience with the 2 tables. Is it so hard for people to not be a dick every day of their lives?

The 6600 is Direct Drive and the 6500 is Belt Drive. Both are made by Hitachi and use the same tone arms, controls and such.

While I don't have a 6600 (I am looking for one as well), The build quality of the 6500 is much better than the Technics (6502) made ones. I feel the quality is one step above. The Cue/Stop control is near the front which I like much better. The tone arm has a little more Mass than the standard Technics arm

Well, I have a pristine 6600 in my possession as of an hour ago
 
Well it is in fantastic condition HOWEVER, on initial start up it needed a little push to get started. I left the cue up and just let it soon for a good hour and now seems to work fine. Is it just because it sat for a long time it do I have some working parts going bad?

which MCS turntables do you currently have?
 
Well after comparing the 6601 and 6600, I think I like the 6601 more. The tone arm seems to be more detailed. I did however add a cool veneer to the 6600.

I used to own the 6600, it was a good table overall. I sold it after running it next to my Technics SL1200mk1 for a couple months. Nothing wrong with it, I just felt it wasn't as well built as the Technics, it was plastic and particle board if I remember correctly, and the platter was much lighter. It also didn't have as much torque as the Technics, which gave the Technics tighter bass. Mine was missing feet when I bought it, that's why it's sitting on my spare Technics feet.

My 6700 has the guts of a Technics SL 1950 ( you can use the Technics service manual) and I like the look a lot better.
