Hey guys,

Anybody have a spare Shure 2224 laying around they'd like to sell? These came stock with the MCS direct drive 6700. None of these aftermarket tips have the sound this stylus puts out. Please PM me if you do. Thanks!

My 6700s came with a Shure 2215 or 2225 cartridge and stylus. I bought EVG stylus #760-DE from Caroles Needles on ebay, and they sound as good as the original.

Don't know if the 2224 stylus is compatible, but the 2215 or 2225 carts can use any N91, N93, or N75 shure stylus.

Can you post a pic of the cart and stylus you have. Maybe the 2215 & 2225 are the same - maybe not.

That looks like my replacements - except the plastic housing isn't that tall. Mine has a lower profile. It looks like the one I mentioned from Carole's *might* work. Make sure she accepts returns or exchanges before ordering.

On second thought---

These Will NOT fit: N70EJ M72EJ N72 M70EJ M72EJ 768-DE. So that answer from the Shure website is partially wrong. I ordered a N72EJ for mine, and it does NOT fit.

This one looks exactly like your's:

and is the one I would go for. A nice JICO made elliptical stylus in EVG packaging.

The brown stylus looks like the Shure M75 ECS - biradial 0.4 X 0.7 mil as described. :scratch2:
