Mechanical drawings of Marantz chassis

Is anyone aware of the existence of mechanical drawings of Marantz receiver chassis? I’m doing some custom work for a 2225 and 2325 and want to ensure proper fitment, and engineering drawings (or the next best documents) are preferable to reverse engineering. Moreover, I don’t have physical access to the 2325, so I can’t make measurements independently.

The thread in this forum called “How to use Digital Docs” says:

Digital Docs is a forum for all of our members to request any literature. This forum is not brand specific. It is for all brands.

Again please do not post your requests for a document for say a Sansui in the Sansui forum or Marantz in the Marantz forum. They all belong in here. ​

I would agree with Matt about moving his topic to the Marantz forum. The information he posted seems clear that he posted his request in the correct forum.

I wouldn’t mind posting it in both to be honest. Probably get a good response from the marantz forum as well. Would that be ok or is there a rule against duplicate threads?

I figure that most Marantz experts follow the Marantz forum and not Digital Docs, so you may get zero responses to your question in the Digital Docs forum. That, and the fact that the Marantz forum has almost 20x more messages that the Digital Docs forum, so you'll receive many more views there.

...plus, technically you weren't requesting literature, just asking a question on whether any literature existed. ;)

This will be the one that remains as all others have been deleted. Once the new software is installed I will move it to Digital Docs if you desire.

I don't think I've ever seen any mechanical drawings of any audio equipment, I was hoping you were posting some when I saw this thread. The closest I've seen is old electronics magazines that have home-brew equipment how-to-make articles. Good luck in your search.

Plenty of manufacturers included proper exploded view drawings of their mechanical parts, but I don’t recall seeing this from Marantz tbh.

EDIT, shows you how bad my memory is, or perhaps I've just never needed to use them before. Marantz did have exploded view of chassis/mech parts in their manuals, at least for some models including the 2225, just looked at my copy.

Thanks. I do have the exploded view in my service manual and it is helpful. I’m also trying to find dimensioned drawings to help design some drop-in replacement parts, but I think it’s a long shot.

Ah, I wondered if that’s what you meant, I’ve definitely not seen anything like that by Marantz. Good luck, what kind of fabrication are you up to out of curiosity?

Well, I got tired of troubleshooting the tone board from my 2225, so I built one from scratch instead, partly to solve my problem but mostly for the interesting project (here's the github page). I quite like how it sounds. Randy Shaw from irebuildmarantz was a big help and also mailed me a couple components that were out of stock everywhere. Now I'm thinking of doing some of the other 2225 boards, as well as a 2325 tone board for Randy.
