MEN220 & speaker placement?

I have been reading with interest input some MEN220 owners concerning some of the benefits it makes to music system. I was wondering if it will be helpful with speaker placement issues. Thinking of two situations, (1) Magnepan speakers often need to be placed several feet into a room to perform at their best. (2) Bookshelf speakers like the Harbeth P3ESR require speaker stands and correct room placement.

First, concerning the magnepan...Is it possible to place them close to a back wall and using the MEN220, and get them to perform optimally with this sort of placement. Second, place the Harbeth on a bookshelf and not on stands and still achieve good performance? Or is this sort of correction beyond the operational parameters of the MEN220?

Typically you can place your speakers that are front firing against or very close to the rear wall. This will result in a bass boost and less imaging since the wall reflections will be very close in time to the main sound. MEN220 will correct for this and restore the imaging while smoothing an extending the base response. You will also have a more impactfull base with less blurring.

When using MEN220 with dipoles you can be within a foot or two of the wall and I have found it to sound best with some toe in. This will greatly extend and fill out the bass end.

Thanks Ron. It seems that digital room correction is a great benefit to those like me that have less than optimal rooms for music reproduction. Getting closer to a purchase decision.
