Meters In The House! Soundcraftsmen MA 5002

GEDC1032.JPG GEDC1033.JPG GEDC1031.JPG I recently picked up this Soundcraftsmen MA 5002. It's built like a Tank, and has taken my system to levels of detail I've seemed to be just shy of. It replaced a Soundcraftsmen S860 Mosfet. The 5002 has no Mosfets, but I'm really liking the warmth, and clarity it puts out. I've recently acquired some Altec Lansing 874A Segovia speakers, pretty roached cabinets, but I re-veneered them, and they sound very nice. I've been looking for a way to pair them with my AR 10 Pi in my main system for a bit, finding the Soundcraftsmen AB for the 860, proved to be a bit pricy for me. I could have used another S860, as my pre has 2 outputs, but those have been few and far lately! I came across this unit, pulled the trigger, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I'm thinking this unit is putting out close to 1500 watts with both pairs of 4ohm speakers. My main listening area is my living room, so I'm not really stretching it out to far, but I now have the ability to lay waste to my hearing if I wish! Ha! I tested the system for a week outside the cabinet, with no excess heat buildup... I'll be installing a fan in the cabinet, and could use some input on that. I have cathedral ceilings, so the AR's are up front @ 7', and the Segovias are in the rear about 16" off floor. I stretched their legs a bit with a CD (Bonnie Raitt) while the wife was walking the dog... Pure, clean, amazing soundstage and way to loud for healthy ears!. No distortion, or clipping.
I'd love some input from other owners of this amp. I'm unsure of a perfect setting for the gains on this, I've switched between 100% and 80%, does not seem to be a difference. My pre is set at 12 degree gain, which seems to work best. Thanks for looking!

Thanks all! I wish we had scratch and hear. I'm loving the sound of my system now. I'm getting my Yamaha K-1000 back soon to fill the hole in the rack. I have so many cassettes I might as well use them.
