METERS, METERS, METERS!!!

You could always find a used peavey cel 2, they are pretty cheap and plentiful. Hook it up to tape outs, and it does have meters, albeit led bar graph style, which are faster and probably more accurate, though not as cool as the tachometer style meters. Lots of knobs and plenty of visual info going all the time.

Ah... Nice bikes.. Rode one of those a friend had... LOVED it... I had looked at the Vulcan years ago when the largest they had was a 1300, but ended up buying a used 1200 Madura... It was a WHOLE lot faster... stupid fast for the times...

Thanks; I've been pretty happy with it having bought it new in 04. 120 ftlb's of torque makes it a real blast to ride.
Your Madura; that's a Suzuki I believe?
 
Yes, the Madura was a Suzuki. It was an 85, that I had bought in 89 or 90 if I remember right...

Now I have a 2002 Roadstar I had bought new, and just two years ago I sold a 2008 Yamaha RoyalStar Venture we bought new and didn't put many miles on.. We only used it for long road trips to pull a trailer behind that had all our camping gear in..

The Roadie I have done a whole lot of work on, and for being a Roadie, it's incredible fast and has a ton more torque than stock.. I've got an FAIC pipe on it( crazy different kinda pipe) and have ram air on it.. ported, matched and polished heads and A/M intake, and a lot of other little tweaks to get the most torque and power possible..
 
I must be a killjoy. I always switch the meters off on my amps or I end up just staring at them and forgetting to listen to music. I apparently only have the attention span for one thing at a time.

2nd this. Before I had meters, they were all I could think about. Now that I have have many, I don't care much for them anymore. Don't get me wrong, they look great and I love owning them but once the music is on I forget all about them. Maybe it's because my 4ch scope on my tuner looks so damn good!

I have a Kenwood KF-8011 which has nice big colorful meters on the front. I don't need it and I could be convinced to sell it. PM me if you're interested.
 
That's the one. I've never used it for its "real" purpose. I like meters too, but there comes a point where too many is too many.
 
Get a Crwon tape deck, you can see those meters from across the room with their big pointer ends. The Crown meter/switching box, the OC-150a is on the lower left in this pic.
