Michael Phelps Pulls It Off/Mens 100m Shock

usblues--you signed on to AK in order to make that your first post?

NFS- the guy i would like to have seen get more press than he did from the swimming competitions would be jason lezak. he saved phelps' ass twice- first with the all time hero swim of the century coming from behind on the frenchman in 4x100 free, and then holding the lead on the world record holder in the last leg of the 4x100 medley. both of those were completely AWESOME swims

Agreed, 100%. Phelps kept putting the team first as much as possible in the post race interview, But the guy seemed in shock for a while, And pretty tired. Also Persol hand a nice first leg.

NBC is already selling the Phelps dvd at their website. Bolt was unbelievable! He shattered the record easily, and who knows how fast this kid can get. Maybe sub 9?:scratch2:

A sub 9, Probably not, But the 9.50's, No doubt in my mind. The guy has one of the best finishes Ive ever seen. If he can get out of the blocks better, Watch out.

Hi Fast, thanks,I am glad to be here and will strive to be a positive part of the play. You must be a pool player with that moniker.....?Cheers,Bob

Actually, Fast street cars/Dirt bikes, And still think "Top Gun", Is a pretty cool flick! O'Yeah, Welcome! You'll blend in here, Don't start off on the wrong foot though, We've seen people not get back. Bottom line, Have fun!

Just a hunch, but I'm gonna guess that usblues101 question about pool was directed to Fast Eddie, as in Fast Eddie Felcin, from The Hustler and The Colour of Money.

Indeed! That's where it comes from. But it moves through several parts of my life. The nick name made sense when I was editing everyday at the station. I was quite fast. And my name is Ed. And I'd just seen The Hustler. But I've always been into cars and currently autocross my '91 Toyota MR2.

Take care,

Ed

Jason Lezak is the hero of China for the U.S. Among many great stories.

That comeback from 1/2 length behind was the greatest 50m I've ever seen and to me the signature of these Olympics.

To me that particular moment eclipses even the vaunted U.S. hockey team's win over Russia. Lake Placid, perhaps.
