Sad to hear this. He had a really distinctive way of shaping the music, especially in Mahler - always felt both precise and deeply expressive. I remember discovering some of his recordings here and being surprised how fresh they sounded compared to others. Definitely a big loss.,
 
Its funny, I always thought of him as an "East Coast Guy" due to his time with the BSO. He stepped in, middle of concert, when William Steinberg got sick. Impressive for a 24 year old. Thats what got him noticed! RIP Maestro :confused:
