Anyone have real world experience with the Micro Jig Grr-Ripper Table Saw Push Block? It looks like a great tool, and I'm considering purchasing one or two.

Do any of you use one of these and what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Tried one a long time ago. Too finicky. I wound up making my own push blocks and jigs.

I have two. I like them for ripping thin strips. I feel much safer using them on those type of cuts. Only took one kick back on a 3/4 rip for me to always use at least one.

For most rips over 2 inches, I use a regular push stick.

I'm with the DIY crowd, as I use a couple of plywood pushblocks I made years ago. There's lots of of plans, and publications online for making jigs and fixtures you might want to check out before buying something.

I always use shop built push-sticks and jigs for work at the tablesaw. I don't feel bad about considering them consumable as I would if I had purchased something like this. Besides, I regularly make rips thinner than 1/4" and I'd need my own anyways. However, something like their MJG-201 or GB-1 for use at the router table is being considered.

I have one, and I like it. It has proven itself very useful in making thin cuts. I also have home made push sticks and pads but I think it was money well spent and I would recommend one if you are on the fence and don't think the price is too high.
