Microsoft will end Windows 8 and 8.1 support on May 13th, 2014

What I find interesting is if you don't upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 and then to Update 1, you can receive security updates for Windows 8 until Jan 2016.

"Of course an argument could be made that Microsoft is merely determined to keep all its users up to date. That argument is somewhat undermined by the fact users still on Windows 8 will keep receiving security patches until January 2016. If Microsoft can keep security eligibility alive for Windows 8.0 for 8 more months because it recognises not everyone upgrades immediately, why can’t it give Windows 8.1 users more leeway than 30 days to install Update 1?"

Well my laptop worked perfectly

2.8 ghz dual core 4 gig of memory

It had recently reinstalled fully updated 32 bit vista premium

Now it has 64 bit win 7 pro

Works fine - i wanted to try 64 bit

I wanted to see if 64 bit was faster

I think it is a little faster

40 dollar experiment

I had no problems with win me :D
