mid and high range level controls Pioneer CS 99

I bought a nice pair of CS 99's, but know little about the mid and high range level controls.
I did not get an owners manual.
Has strong bass and decent highs, mids seem to be lacking. I am running a Harmon Kardon 670 receiver with 65wts per channel, Pioneer PL 115D TT w/new AudioTech cart.

How to adjust the mid range?

Also, any thoughts to raising them off the floor? Tweaks?
:music:

Have you checked for loose screws for the drivers?? I almost through mine away before I tightened mine up to make a perfect speaker.

I have not. Do not have owners manual and not sure how to correctly access the drivers?:scratch2:

The grills either are attached with VELCRO, or have a small screw in each corner. Look for the screw 1st. Once the grill is off, use a phillips #2 Screwdriver to snug down the drivers. (You might want to rotate the Woofer 180*). The crossover is inside next to or on the back panel that the connectors are on. It should be right behind the woofer.

Use some deoxit on the switches/pots and exercise them 40-50 times to work in the De-Oxit and break up the corrosion/oxidation.

Caps are replaced with BI-POLAR / Non-Polarized Caps. Most go to Parts Express for them. The values are on the caps.

The adjustments are either a switch for Low/Normal/High or a pot (like a volume knob affair) that increases or decreases the midrange or highrange. Adjust the pot to your liking. Most likely the Mids are muddy sounding or vague. This indicates recapping is necessary. Get values and voltages for all the caps and replace. The Mids/Highs will come back.

Larry,
I am not inclined towards electronic repair, such as cap replacement. Do need a special meter to get the stated values?

Nice speakers with good sound. I have a set along with a pair of Pioneer HPM-100s and CS-A9000s (150watts). The 99As have a very nice sound for but even with the 15 inch woofer, the bass is not deep. But, it is wonderful with jazz and vocal songs.

I have the manual so PM me for that.
