mid-century speaker id?

Judging by the RCA jacks in the bottom, they're probably not that great. Unless someone positively IDs them, I'd skip them unless you can listen to them first.

On the other hand, the woofers look like they're of decent quality, so you never know.

Realistic? Wow. I never expected that. I was thinking (hoping?) maybe more of a scandinavian/german origin just based on the cabinets.

Thanks very much!

Not bad little speakers at all for what they are, the tweeters are foster/fostex, not sure about the woofer.

90 bucks each in 1971, i'd wager the woofers are foster/fostex as well.

Well, if the black vinyl cushions were present then that might just sway me. I think I'm going to pass on these. Thanks again.

Yeah, something tells me that actually sitting on your speakers may not be the ideal listening position.

I wouldn't pass on them at all if the price is decent. Radio Shack speakers of that era sometimes surprised with their performance. That woofer, especially, is rather popular with fans of vintage, cast frame, fabric-surround drivers. I'd certainly give them a listen.
