Mid level or lower mid level Briefcase Headphones...

Hello,
I teach multimedia CG and would like to get a more convenient and better sounding set of cans. I teach in many different labs and am looking for something that is convenient and fits well in a briefcase.

They will be carried in the briefcase 24/7. Soft-case, with a Macbook pro 15" (sometimes with ps), a thin book or two, folders\papers, slim mouse, a couple of video adapters, sketchpad, and pencils/pens/markers.

That means that folding flat is more important than tiny. They won't be worn for hours on end. I'd like a full "over the head" headphone, no earbuds. Convenience is paramount. Good, fast cord management is key. A protective quick access case would be nice. The case should also allow for a few connector bits. An unobtrusive and/or removable mic would be super cool but not a requirement. I suppose USB could work, but was thinking more like a headphone jack.

no mic, but I bought what's her face a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x (found a pair on Amazon Warehouse for cheap) and a hard case for xmas last year, they do fold up pretty compactly for over the ear cans so if you can find a good case for them that is an option.
 
I've bought these for all my kids and have two pair I kept for myself. They sound fantastic, fold relatively flat, and for the price you just won't need to worry about what happens to them when you're moving around.

One of the things that Monoprice does that has got them in hot water at times is the go to a manufacturer in China that is making an branded audio product for a well known company and find out if they have an exclusivity clause in their contract, if they don't Monoprice has this company make them virtually the same thing. An example is a home theater system they once sold, it was the same system as one Kilpsch Audio was selling, the difference was Monoprice was selling it for half of what Kilpsch was selling theirs for. You can imagine the monumental cow flop hitting the fan when Kilpsch found this out.
 
Marshall Major II's are folding , cord plugs into either side and can plug into a phone and have a microphone. . On ear headphones and sound decent, too.
I have an adapter to use them on my receiver which has the 1/4 inch opening.
