After a very exhaustive restoration of the cabinets and long searching for suitable drivers (the original dynaudio 8s were gone) I settled on a set of Klipsch KG4.5 ten inch drivers that needed new surrounds. (Old ones had slices from something, Purchased online).
I was toying with the idea of sealing the cabs and adding passive reflexes. Sooooo glad I didn't. I know I sound insane but these things sound unreal! I am a little shocked by the low end response and the dynaudio mids and highs are clearer and more accurate than my AR9. Overall they sound better than my AR9 and my Heresy and my Vega 12TR just can't compete at all. I'll never sell these things lol. If anyone knows Mike, have him hit me up. I'd love to know the history on these. Mike was good. He came to talk to our audio society once and brought Jaguars. Best I ever heard that room sound (horrible room in enormous industrial bldg). Among other things he did right was make quiet boxes. He was patient and helped some diy-ers with advice. Don't know what became of him but very much wish him well.

Mike loved ACI (speaker design), but ACI was taking more and more time so he gave it up to focus on his other love, teaching.

I'm not sure if he would be able to tell you much about the speakers. I recently contacted him about an older sub design and after so many products and years away I think his memory of the early stuff is sketchy.

I hold hope that if he sees these he will remember but they may be a diy kit build as well. I hunted forever but there is zero info anywhere on them. The bud quality was superb to say the least.

ACI offered kits, plans, parts for the plans and factory made models. I still have maybe 4 or 5 different sets but you can still find his stuff on ebay. I believe audiocircle has a old dedicated thread for ACI; Audio Concepts Inc. direct selling from the factory to consumer with High quality and bang for the buck. They look early 90's and you might do better with the ACI10 which were made by miniscus. I have a copy of an old sales catalog and i believe the basic driver parameters are all listed. Ill check and get back to you here tomorrow.

Thank you for the information!!
