Friday 4:42 a.m. PT. 7/20/2007. Magnitude 4.2. I didn't feel it.

Earthquakes in our parts are nothing unusual. But the weird this is I had a premonition of it 12 hours before. I was kinda dozing off listening to Carly Simon (He likes to roll) at the time. And last night I was talking to a stranger who was commenting how Wednesday felt like earthquake weather. Very weird.
.....I'd say you Guys might should get out of there considering the San Andreas Fault....but, here I sit on the New Madrid Fault between me and Memphis....the one that made the Mississippi River run backwards for three days filling up the hole from the plates shifting way back....if it goes again, at least we won't fall in an ocean.....(ahem).....

And I thought you were going to mention Barry Bonds hitting two homers last night. :D I'm always bummed when I sleep through earthquakes and miss all the fun. Hey did your premonition have any lottery ticket numbers in it???

I am afraid that when the New Madrid fault lets go, it'll make SanFran's look like a Sunday-School picnic...

I'll stick with the good ole Canadian Shield thanks. Bedrock 2 miles thick ain't about to "quake" any time soon :)

I'm a little south of you and can't get too worried. Here's the probability map.Remember though, there's a few thousand miles of molten iron below the rock.:scratch2:
I lived for a few years at the base of Mt. Tamalpais, a dormant volcano. We were probably on the San Andreas fault. We had a few earthquakes and it is an unsettling feeling:yes:.

...I'm just afraid Memphis and/or St Louis might end up getting the "Shakey-Puddin'" treatment one day.. Even here, we have small quakes every once in awhile...& the Appalachins are supposed to be some of the oldest mountains they know of.
