Looks like we're getting some snow soon. Time to run out and buy enough groceries for a week.

All i really need to do today is clear the crap out from in front of the snow blower and generator so I can get them out of the garage easily tomorrow. I know i'll use one & hoping not to use the other.

Most grocery stores down here still have plenty of depleted shelves from the two storm runs at the beginning and end of last week. They have not been able to catch back up. The one today/tonight starting as rain may end with some snow. Needed some milk for buttermilk/buckwheat pancakes this weekend not much milk in stock in the refrigerated case early this morning at the store I went to.

Back in the eighties my brother and a friend made the newspaper with a picture of them sitting on the front porch with a foot of snow on the ground. Each had a loaf of bread under one arm and both were chugging a gallon of milk. Some silly headline about them being prepared.

Americans are really ignorant. If want to survive get candy bars and bottled water, you can live a year on that, no refrigeration or spoilage, lots of variety too.

Here in " fly over " territory.. The snow has been pretty much flying over us this year. We only Had one snow spell so far. About 11" two weeks ago. Had some pretty wicked sub-zero weather with wind chill though since then. My wife Jonina can't believe its warmer in Iceland than it is in Iowa.

When I worked in the grocery snow prediction would sell milk, eggs, and bread. After the snow started really falling the wives would send their husbands and then a fourth item would start to really sell. (beer)

Well at this moment, not bad. Been snowing since about 2 AM, but seems very fine and easily swept around by the wind. Plow started coming by around 6:30. At this point, nothing to be too excited about, but they say we've got another ten hours to go!

Been snowing all night, only 5 or so inches on the ground. Not enough to bother with the shovels yet.
Power still on...all is good.

It's still snowing, and the wind is picking up. I'm watching my neighbors struggling to keep up. One thing I learned from 33+ years of living in New England, wait until it's over. I might just wait until tomorrow when the sun is out and the winds have calmed down.
