Minidsp and AU-9500

Anyone using minidsp with the au-9500?

I want to actively biamp a pair of speakers using the 9500 for pre and power (bass) with a separate poweramp for the treble.

My q is whether anyone has done this, and if I want the older minidsp with 0,9/2 Vrms input at 10 kOhms and 0,9 Vrms out or the new HD with 2/4 Vrms at 10 kOhms and 2 Vrms out?

From the spec of the 9500 I have either 100mV/1,5kOhms (2 channel out from the 4-channel adaptor) or 800mV/1,5kOhms from the pre-out to work with.

Inputs are rated 100mV/50kOhm and 800mV/50kOhm respectively.

Anyone?

Yes, I really am this dumb.

I guess I'm overthinking this in regard to the various impedances, and only need consider the 0,8V output for the 0,9V input on the minidsp and the 0,9V output into the poweramp part of the 9500.

In other words, the older, cheaper version is better for my use?

It may help, I don't know but I did not think the use of a DSP was equipment specific??

Using it like this it will be, since I'll be using the preamp section of the 9500, then the minidsp to control and split the signal into 4 channels, feed two of those into the 9500 and the two others into a separate power amp.

Input and output voltage should fit the equipment being used in order to get max power from the amp without blowing it as there's no adjustment on the 9500 input.

You are way overthinking this.

What "DSP" are you using? Is it balanced or unbalanced? Or Both? What is the other Power amp you are using?

Here's how my G22000 is set up with my Active Bi-amp setup.

G22K Pre-Amp > Lake contour (set up for stereo 2 way)> Hi > G22K Power Amp > JBL L7 Mid Hi
> Lo > Crown Macrotech > JBL L7 Subwoofer

Its that simple, then within the Lake Contour you set up your crossover frequency, and you set the output level going to the power-amps to balance it out.
The sensitivities of the power amps have little to do with anything as you balance it out with the crossover/DSP output levels. Thats the whole point of it.
I run the Gains on the Macro-Tech at full.

I'll be using the minidsp 2x4, then have a friend help setting up the filters using audiolense and a calibrated mic.

Don't know if I can adjust the in/out levels of the 2x4?

9500 - minidsp 2x4
Low - 9500 - midtone on monitor + signal to active sub
Hi - parasound zamp 3 (or similar) - treble on monitor
