Minimus 22?!

In another episode of the never-ending story of variations on the Realistic Minimus 7 theme... I now have a pair of Miminus 22s. Same driver complement as the Minimus 7, only in a "flattened" cabinet. Cabinets on these are 10.5" tall, 7" wide and 3" deep, and they were obviously intended for wall hanging (have keyhole hooks on the back, and tracks where wires can run along from the terminals). They're silver in color.

Sound? Pretty much like a Minimus 7, only with more bass. Makes sense, with the larger baffle (more baffle support, less baffle-step loss)...

From calculating cabinet volume, they seem to be the same size internally. The Minimus 7Ws I have are later models; the 22s have the early model tweeters.

The woofers in the 22 looks smaller. Is it? I have 7's and 77's. The 77's have a bigger cab and bigger woofer and sound MUCH better.

The cabinet dimensions appear to be splayed better on the 22's, with the larger baffle and the width vs. depth being more pronounced.

Fascinating speaker. You have spawned much curiosity upon my part regarding these speakers. I will have to go out & find me a pair.

I have a single NOS Pro-AV speaker that needs a mate as well. I have yet to try the AV and compare it to the 7's I have.

Same exact woofer in the 7 and 22.

The bigger baffle seems to make the 22 have a better bottom end than the 7. Of course, if you put both of them next to a wall, the differences would probably mostly disappear...
