If you won the bid, maybe you could get someone local to swing by and pick it up for you.
Then say a $30 paypal deposit may cover the shipping to Canada?
The seller would probably rather have a local pick it up than deal with shipping anyway?

Having dark pictures and no "Yamaha C-85" in the title means it will go under the radar for searches; same goes for little to no content in the listing. The more keywords in your auction, the more visibility you get.

One is taking a bit of a chance with the novice seller, but their novice-ness is what is providing this opportunity as well...
 
i don't know about that ...just tried searching for yamaha c85 and it came up with lots of bike bits ..
i have seen some bad adverts in the past ..i thought that one was pretty good as it goes .i can see the dust and chipped paintwork ..no spelling mistakes i noticed .
suppose when it gets near the end it will get the bids .
maybe the auto-fill doesn't work for that item ?
i see he has some motherboards as well . be worth getting them if they sell for start price .. price for computer scrap is good .shame cpu.s are missing and the cards as they are worth lots of money .

I am within driving distance im sure, warren city limits is like 6 miles from me.
Ask the seller if he would mind if a local picked it up, we can make plans if he says yes.

Or.....FYI get it shipped to a package delivery service accross the border. You use their address, package get shipped there and then you go pick it up. (cost is about 3-5$) Works like a charm I use the one in Sumas all the time. Google for the one closest to you.

Or maybe you could use the suggestion tyeeslayer mentioned. as long as you have a passport, you shouldn't have an issue.
Wonder if the Boarder/custom agent would see a piece of audio gear and want you to pay a duty/tax?
I know when i use to come in and out of Mexico, i had to declare/pay for a few items i would have thought wouldn't be a issue, but maybe coming into the U.S is different than going into Canada?

I have brought back a LOT of gear from the U.S. and have not paid any duty yet. I just be honest about value and ALWAYS keep a print out of the receipt. The highest value I have brought back was $175 (I was across the border for 10 mins. and gota tank of gas too). That being said, I always am prepared to pay any duty just in case.

Thanks - it's a 7 hour drive for me to the border. I actually have to drive north for a couple of hours before I head south to the border.
Appreciate all the kind gestures thus far.
 
Oh, I don't think I'd consider it flying under the radar anymore, if it was at all. There's a goodly number of watchers setting on this one. Odds are several of those plan to enter enter the game at the last minute if the price hasn't gone through their check point by then.
