Missing Man - Not a Joke

Bozzmonster

Sabrina Says 'Feed Me!'
I wanted to preface this thread as we are known to be jokesters here. This is a truly serious situation, and now that the word is starting to spread, I figured I'd post, since there's a lot of SE Michiganders here. Others may be able to help too. We, at my workplace are really distraught over this.

A gentleman I work with by the name of Pat Keough simply disappeared. He is a co-worker of mine, and reports to the same supervisor as I. Last time I saw him was shortly before noon on June 14, and the last time anybody saw him was shortly afterward. He took a walk (like a lot of us in the office do) but left the office without his phone and other personal items. He simply left. We noticed him first missing at our team meeting at 1:30P that day, we asked 'Where's Pat? and assumed he might be at a different meeting. About 3 PM, when his ride home noted he was gone, all panic broke loose (a controlled panic, but panic nonetheless.) This stance was based on the way in which he left, and some other details found during the investigation. The local authorities were called, and helicopters/tracking dogs were brought in as well as interviews amongst those close to the situation including his family.

As of this writing he has not been found, nor any word heard from him either via phone, credit card usage or via in person sighting. He has a young family, and they are broken up by this.

I posted the link here so you can view the details. If you see him, call the local authorities. If you live elsewhere in the country, prayers are always welcome. We've been doing our share. Thanks!

Sadly it's not that strange (or at least not that uncommon). Best wishes for your coworkers safety.

Cubby, do you remember that guy that got lost at Shawnee Mission Park? It was a very weird situation. He was found 3 days later and didn't remember what happened...

Hopefully the OP's friend will turn up. This is a scary situation but there is hope. My prayers go out for him and his family.

Hope he's found safe and healthy. There's a lady missing in our neighborhood right now - left for her morning walk yesterday and didn't return.

I remember the guy in Shawnee Mission Park. These stories are so sad. Often when there is a health or mental health issue that has gone untreated. :((((

They found the lady missing from our neighborhood. She had walked more than 20 miles, including over a mountain. She's 61, and her husband says she "sometimes has memory problems." I hope that there is a good outcome for the gentleman in the original post.

I hope this guy is found safe. It is amazing, however, how many people just disappear in the United States every year. I was researching a related issue one time a few years back and found that the figure was 900,000. A good percentage are the "guy who went out for a pack of cigarettes and never came back" type ditching family/spouse, or those running from money problems, or even murders with no bodies. But there are a very high percentage where no reason can be found; no criminal ties, happy family life, happy at work, no serious bills, no sign of mental issues.

Thanks for forwarding the thoughts and prayers everyone. We've been trying to figure this out ourselves in the office. He is a very 'normal' guy who may have had a few issues, but just like everybody else in every fashion. The office has been taking up a collection for the family to get gas cards, etc. and is making meals for them so at least they have a little bit of comfort to go with. No leads in this case. They have a crisis counselor coming to the office tomorrow to speak with us and are offering one on one counseling as well.
