I had a pair until recently and for thier size they are great speakers, not a lot of bass but the midrange is superb, they won quite a few awards in the hifi magazines in thier day.

buy them.:thmbsp:

They have a 5" mid/bass and a 3/4" dome tweeter, the mid/bass driver looks like it's made from fibreglass or something similar and has a rubber surround, from memory they measure about 12" high by 6" wide by 8" deep.

They are GREAT little speakers. Hell, I think they are simply GREAT, period, regardless of size. And the bass they DO put out will catch you off guard sometimes.

Hello!!
Just got the Mission 760i speakers today.
I hooked them up to my H-k 450 receiver/Denon DCD520 CD player.
WOW.....these little Missions really ARE nice speakers aren't they?
For tiny speakers with 5" mid-woofers, they really can crank out some impressive bass for their size!!
These speakers are the TOTAL package IMO!!
With the exception of deep bass, they give you just about everything you could ask for, in an inexpensive little speaker!
I AM IMPRESSED!!

I picked up a pair of 760i today and they are unreal. I am no huge expert but they sound better than many larger speakers I put against them. As soon as my friend heard them, he rushed out to go buy a pair of smaller MS-50 speakers. They also sounded great but because of the smaller size, they lack in the lower end.

I have model 70 mkII's, and I was greatly surprised upon hearing them how natural they sounded, and they look unique with their wraparound grills. There are 4 screws on the back, and when you loosen them the whole back pops off. This could be a design feature that could be patented, I'd guess. They have the standard for Mission inverted configuration (tweeter on bottom), and all in all I was pleasantly surprised. I paid $80 (tax included), which to some might be a bit high. I believe that if a pair of speaks are worthy to sit in my collection they're worth $100 if that's what it costs to bring them home. I buy carefully; I usually hold out for nearly mint items as I'm lousy at diy. I have tackled some grillcloth replacement, but we all know that there's no soldering involved there (hehe)! No destrucion of property, no self-inflicted burn wounds, just be careful not to glue your fingers to the frame, or get it on the components...

I am resurrecting this thread from 2012!!

I just picked up a pair of these little Mission speakers at the thrift for 3 dollars today in rough shape, but these really rock! I am powering them with a Panasonic mini system with 25wpc and my ghetto bedroom system has never sounded so good!

2020 and still rockin'. I had a friend (sadly, deceased) who wrote speaker reviews for Audiophile. He never steered me wrong on audio advice. I was at his house once when the stylus on his turntable cartridge broke. It cost $3000 to replace. I asked for a small speaker recommendation. He went ape s**t over these. I've now had them for a long long time and they are great. But take note: I have nothing to compare it to in my room with my amplifier with my ears and my taste in music. Still ...
