Just got home from an estate sale. Ended up leaving with a pair of Mission 763i. one tweet inst working so I have to open it up to see whats going on.

Got them for $30.

One questions. There is a jumper between the HiFreq and LoFreq binding posts on the back. can anyone explain how the crossovers in this speaker works? Are they separate internally?

I also posted this in the Dollars and Cents forum.

Yes, the crossover may be built on the same printed board ( it usually is ) but has separate sections for the two drivers, thus if you remove the jumpers you can feed the drivers with two separate amplifiers.

PS - Avoid double posting, it is usually not appreciated here.

Yes. Except for a few unusual types, the HF and LF crossovers in speakers are always separate internally, but connected to the same input. The external jumpers give you the option of connecting them to separate amplifiers (by removing the jumpers), the potential benefits of which are widely debated. That's it!

Tweet is out

ok, so swapping the tweet to the other cab shows that it isnt working.

Is there a comparable replacement part for the R76/78-HFU-D20?

got the tweet apart. looks like the wire is broken around the dome diaphragm. see pics attached.

Doesnt look fixable. Anyone know of a good replacement? It's a weird triangular shape.
