MIT Universal Terminator Module T-4 - What is this thing?

A bit of googling, but still no good information.

What is this thing? There was one of these stuck on to the back of each of the very nice ProAc speakers I recently picked up. I immediately removed them, thinking it's a gimmicky or otherwise useless device. Anyone know what it is, what it does, or if it's worth using? 4 inputs and 4 outputs. The two banana plugs were inserted into the input terminals on the speakers. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't throw those away, somebody likely paid a good chunk of change for those mystery boxes.

Thanks I have contacted them. I'll update this thread once I have heard back in case anyone else happens upon some T4's in the future and doesn't have a clue what they are!

MIT does not have a manual for this item any more, too old. Grant at MIT responded to me, telling me that it uses something similar to their modern "multipole" technology . Not sure what that means , still sussing it all out.

davstev - you are in a position to provide the rest of us an unbiased review on this technology since you have not invested thousands of your own dollars by purchasing it. Would you please try your speakers both with and without the MIT boxes and let the rest of us know if you hear a difference between them.

I've been exceptionally busy of late. This weekend, I will definitely test them and give results here.

I just picked up a pair of these this morning with instruction manual for $6. I am an audio nerd but never believed the hype. And would never spend more than $40 for a set of cables. I did own a MIT line conditioner in the past so I may be the perfect person to give an unbiased opinion. I have a set of Revel 106 speakers and a small tube amp. I’ll give them a run tomorrow.

I am home sick, so it's the perfect excuse to finally slow down and take the time to also test the pair that I have too. I will post my impressions tomorrow, we can compare our findings.
