Mitsubishi Lt-30 arm doesn't drop for any record.

Hello guys im new here. But anyways to you Mitsubishi turn table guys. I Have a question. My dad has this Mitsubishi Lt-30 he has had it since it was basically new. And currently it's issue is, it doesn't sense any record. The lights on the prism are on. And it moves from left and never drops for the record. For 33 or 45s it's like it doesn't know it's there.And then goes back to the right to its at rest position. So if you guys have any input. If it needs a sensor or something. Let me know. It would be a awesome Christmas present if I could get his LT-30 back up and working. Thanks and let me know.

That sounds like a sensor light and/or a belt needs replacing. I'd do both due to age. Radio Shack used to carry the wheat bulbs that will wok. I got belts from this guy.

Thank you very much David. I figured because that clear prism is all illuminated that the bulbs would be fine. But I will order some
New bulbs, there might be some bulbs out that I can't see, or even know are there. And I can try to track down the belt. Parts on eBay for these, sadly aren't plentiful. I checked that link. I will have to see if he has anything. But thank you again.
 
There should be no need to go to eBay for parts. While there are some good vendors on eBay, unless you know them already, there's risk.

The bulbs I mentioned are not seen without removing the bottom. There are bulbs and sensors on each end of the travel of the carriage. If one or more of these are out, you'll get the symptoms you're seeing. There are a number of Mitsu LT series threads here that will 'illuminate' you on replacement of the bulbs and what's involved. The Radio Shack part number for the wheat bulbs is in them.

BTW, the bulb in the prism is only for record size selection.

On the belts, use the link to get a set of replacement belts. He caters to hobbyists like us.
