Mitsubishi LT30 Turntable..... recommendations on automatic

I currently own a Mitsubishi LT30 turntable in excellent working order, no issues at all, pictured below. My only concern is after talking a little about it to the gentleman that works on my old receivers about it, he warned me that they can be difficult to repair if anything goes wrong on it. So I wanted to know if anyone familiar with this turntable would give me some feedback on this. This table is my “Lazy” table and really like the push button operation. Should I be concerned about future possible repairs are are all automatic turntables like this?. I was considering replacing it with another “more simple” automatic but am having trouble finding a good possible replacement. What might be another automatic that would be equal in performance that I could consider? Any feedback is appreciated.

Why not do your research... here and elsewhere? As Aerobat mentioned there is a long thread of repair and maintenance on AK. There are other LT30 threads here on AK. There are threads about this table on other sites. Spread your wings and look around.

I’ve done a good amount of research on my turntable, unfortunately I am not exactly good at electronic repair, so I would not have a chance doing a repair on it. I guess hearing a technician tell me that linear tracking turntables are finicky and would be costly to repair, made me want to get other opinions on it. Looking at the restoration thread on it is all pretty much confusing to me, so if it were to break down, then it would be going to a repair shop. I am just trying to get a feel in regards to it’s reliability.

Thanks,
James

Seems to me you try to figure that out before you buy it. Regardless, linear tables are no more or less finicky and not more costly to repair than other tables. Some are complicated some are not. Same across the board. The more electronics there are the tougher the repair can be if you have no interest in trying your hand at that type of repair. I have fixed many tables by using rebuild threads here and elsewhere. There are experts about and members that have been down the rebuild route. I try to leverage their experience and really enjoy learning something new. Nothing better then knowing the audio gear your listening to was repaired, rebuild by you. Makes the listening that much more enjoyable.

There are a couple chassis mounted voltage regulators that can fail but they are easily replaceable.

Thanks everyone for the insight, I did research when I purchased it,but never read anything about issues with breaking down. I guess I put too much emphasis on what my repair guy told me and it concerned me a bit.

If it's working fine, enjoy it! I wouldn't worry about any possible future issues with it until when and if they happen.

^^^This^^^.

Life's short enough as it is, with little time to worry about bad things that have happened, let alone bad things that might never happen!

When I bought my LT30 I didn't know much about any kind of turntable... It had several issues when I bought it. But at the time... I didn't know that I couldn't fix it. So I did a lot of reading the threads on this site and others as well as contributing to this site.
Even if you don't think you have repair skills, reading all the stuff about this table will benefit you when you have to take it somewhere for repair or maintenance. At least you'll have a basic understanding of a problem and what others have done to fix it.

I have two automatics (B&O 4002 and Pioneer PL-707), so that makes me doubly lazy I guess.

I am not worried-worst that could happen is I am unable to repair it (very modest skills), and no one local can do the repair (a good shop is about an hour drive-so covered for now).

Worst case scenario-I have to buy another working table. I try to worry less, and enjoy more.
