Just scored a little Mitsubishi M-A4200 power amp from the auction site, planning on using it to biamp the top end on my Mirage 790'S. Anyone have a handle on a downloadable (preferably free) manual? I was unable to google one... also, does anyone have info/experience/opinion on the Darlington output circuit this unit uses? Any response is greatly appreciated...

I just picked one of these up the other day also. GW for 10 bucks. I thought a pretty good find. The badge was broken off and it looked like the speaker select buttons were broken off inside the face plate and some kid had markered the front... oh and it had a broken corner. I figured for 10 bucks I would take a chance. Got it home and it powered right up. Opened it up and it was pristine. The broken buttons was just the bezel had popped off and the button caps had came off the switch but the switches were fine. I was gonna use it in my garage to power my ipod through a pair of old JBL bookshelf speakers but after listening to them I am thinking I might put them to better use. It sounded good and it has nice separation and clarity (considering what I was running through it ) So I am with you on the manual thing I would like to know more about this unit. Please let me know if you get a hold of one and I will do like wise. I liked it so much I pulled the face and today did some sanding and prep and started laying a paint job on it. Should look pretty cool when I am done I will post pics.

This little honey looks new & the sound is very bright and clear, detail is outstanding! All I did was remove the jumpers from the 790's and run the little Mit straight into the high freq inputs. As the smoked woofer in one of the Mirage's isn't fixed yet, I hooked the DA-A10DC amp into the good ol' Realistic sub. Source is a TD-160BC with a Systemdek Profile II arm and AT 9009 cart feeding an Aric Audio 3.7 tube preamp. Taking the sub's crossover out of the signal path really freed up some detail and sparkle, and the little Mit will stay right where it is after the fried woofer is either reconed or replaced, and the other Mit will drive the Mirage's low end...
 
Old thread but i picked one of these up as a back up power amp from the Boise Reuseum, for 40 bucks. Will look for an inexpensive preamp to pair with it to use in the garage possibly also. Will likely connect one of my old tuners, maybe an old tape deck, and some digital input like a google chromecast or something I have laying around. And keep it in reserve if one of my other more vintage power amps go down.
