Modding Vintage Tannoy Cheviots for Bi-Wiring??

View media item 20194I have a pair of vintage Tannoy Cheviots. They sound pretty great now, but they have some of the puniest little binding post I’ve ever seen (see photo). So, I was thinking about upgrading them. Then, I thought there’s probably 2 separate connections in there for the woofer and the concentric compression tweeter, why not set them up for bi-wiring while I’m at it?!

Just wanted to see if any one any had any experience with or opinions on this.

Thanks,
Patrick

Well, if the crossovers are set-up that way so that the two circuits are easy to separate, it could be easy (e.g., cut a jumper wire).

Still has to go through the crossover though, you would have to modify it and add another pair of binding posts.

Upgrade the binding posts and upgrade your speaker cable. Forget the bi-wire idea as your crossover isn't set up for it.
