If you guys read my other thread i recently acquired a model 33 preamp and two model 250 amps. Planning on restoring everything in the next few months.
I have done tons or research on these 250's and looks like some love them and some don't love them so much. I really do love marantz and that rich warm marantz sound but i wonder if these 250's sonically is the best i can do. The model 33 pre i for sure plan on keeping.
To get more detailed i will be powering a quad set of spl td1's SO if i keep the 250's essentially it would be 125 x 4 @ 8 ohms into the speakers. The speakers are efficient at 103db BUT they do take a lot of power, 600 RMS if i am correct.
Do you guys think i would be better off getting a more powerful amp and run the 33 as the pre OR just keep the 250's? This decision i want to make before i restore the 250's... Opinions? I was thinking on getting some powerful adcom gfa-565 monos or maybe even a pro amp.
