model 32 relay problems

Im in the process of trying to figure out why my model 32 amp wont fire up. I can get it to work if i "jump" the relay, but then i have no delay at startup and protection is bypassed. It does sound fine though i wont run it for long for fear of doing harm. I have the factory service manual, but im not the greatest tech out there and i was wondering if this was a common failure and if there was a known fix for this issue. I have repiared my other marantz amps,pre/output transistors on my model 15 and open resistors on my model 240 but no luck so far on the 32,Thanks in advance for any help

What do you mean by "jump the relay"?

The rectifier/relay board on the model 32 usually need to be rebuilt. Do the capacitors first, this will probably correct the problem with the protection circuit. Unless there is to much DC to the speakers and the protection circuit is doing its job.

If you need a service manual, PM me and I'll email you a copy
