Model 8B 240v Conversion?

Hey all,

I know i've been a bit slack showing the pictures of the 8B and 8B reissue I acquired a couple of months back, sadly life has gotten in the way of the fun things. But in 2 weeks I'll finally be free of obligation and am going to dedicate a solid week to restorations and so forth.

On that note I was wondering if anyone had a guide or instructions on converting the 8B from 110/120v to 240v. I know the serial number of my original unit is after the point where the power supplies were equipped for conversion, and to be honest i'm 99% sure of what I need to do but I still would not like to risk damage to either one of my babies!

Any help will be appreciated and paid in kind with photos of the units! :)

Cheers!

Go to HiFiEngine.com and register, then search the Marantz manuals for the 8/8b.

http://www.hifiengine.com/manuals/marantz/model-8.shtml

Download the schematic (has the 240V transformer and the wiring colors for the connections) and the service manual (110V version only). You should be able to deduce the wiring for your 240V mains.

Double check to see if there are any reports or DIY posts here on AK or at DIYAudio.com regarding the 240V version of the 8B.
