Model Fifteen Amp and 7T Pre-Amp

Chip - HP

Super Member
Picked up a Marantz Model Fifteen amplifier and 7T pre-amplifier ... I am guessing that they haven't been used for 20+ years.

The 7T powers up ... I plugged it in, hit the power switch just long enough to see the light come on and turned it off.

I am a little concerned about testing the amp ... Should I put it on a Variac (which I will have to borrow from a friend) ... and bring it back to life slowly?

Yes on the slow power up.

Few years back I picked up a 7T and 15. Use the 7T, still have the 15 but have not had a need to use it so far.

Use the 7T almost every day and love it. When you get to the point, you should recap and restore both. I have a few pointers for the 7T.

Enjoy both...

I found this thread when searching for information about Model 15 amplifiers. I have a model 15 on its way and I have started looking for the right Model 7T.

Chip - HP, do you have any updates or reviews on your Model 15 / 7T system?

Thanks
