Moderate price MC cart suggestions

When I put "cartridge_retipping-5" into eBay it gives me VAS's listings. Did not notice that I wasn't getting anything for Joseph. Not an expert on eBay's ins & outs. Seems they give you what they want rather than what you ask for.

Hi Chris,
That sounds like a really interesting option but I don't know much about retipping.
Does the cantilever come with the coils attached or do you somehow reuse the
original coils? Fascinating that it is even possible to do such a job.

The broken cantilever becomes a receiving cup, most MC's have a cup that the cantilever is slotted into anyway so fitting the new cantilever is just doing the same.

The only real contenders at your budget are the Denon DL-301 mkII and DL-103.

I would be more inclined to keep the MM cart you are using and buy a better phono stage. For a tad over 300 you should be able to pick up one of the EAR clones, or Marantz 7 clones. The Kenwood phono stage is ok, but the EAR is much better.
