Hi all, new to the forum. Buying a restored MAC 4100 and Rega to revisit my childhood/for my office setup. Only other sources will be a Sonos Port, the tuner and a TV.
My tastes in presentation tend toward midrange and soundstage, and in music late 70s/80s/early 90s rock, country, especially outlaw or female vocals, and bluegrass. Live recordings always preferred! Willing to sacrifice some transparency for a bit of warmth (though I may already be via the receiver). Frequency range is important but not the deciding factor.
Room is about 10' x 14' and speakers would be wall mounted on beadboard. I am looking for a modern pair (ie, from 2000 onward) of bookshelves to match that won't be overly distorted by the near wall placement. Budget is +/- $2,500.
